Diablo 2 - Arreat Summit 3D
Which difficulty in Diablo 2 gives me the best chance to get 5 sockets in a War Axe?
I have not yet tried to do the socket quest for a plain War Axe. The Arreat Summit site says it can have 6 sockets but I need 5 for the Beast Runeword to put on my Necro. Is there anyway of an almost guaranteed chance of getting a 5 socket War Axe?
Are you playing on battle.net or single player? If you're playing single player, you can always do the trick of making your saved game files read-only and keep trying until you get what you want. Once you get what you want, alt-tab or press the windows key and change your files back to writeable before saving.
If you're playing on battle.net, then you'll have to start calculating percentages and whatnot, but I doubt you'll ever be guaranteed of getting what you want.
