Diablo and Diablo 2 are definitely gems in my book. Diablo 2 took most of my college free time. Unfortunately, I couldn't play Diablo because of system restrictions and once I did get a system that could play it, Diablo 2 was set to be out in a few weeks.
I sometimes get tempted to purchase the games again. Unfortunately, I think technological advances could ruin it for me. Diablo 2 – at the highest settings – will run in 1024×768. Diablo 1 probably runs at an even smaller resolution.
Despite my on-again-off-again addition to WoW, I must say Diablo is the best series out of all of Blizzard's workings.

All in all, I share your reaction to Hellgate 100%. My buddies were chatting it up like it was the next big thing, but all I could see was Diablo 2 re-skinned badly. Now, don't get me wrong, Diablo 2 was and still is an awesome game, but I can no more get into Hellgate than any of the othe cheap knockoffs that bought the engine as soon as they could get their mitts on it and made clones. Sure, it's in 3D but the implimentation of the 3D ruined one of D2's big strengths, the random levels (yeah, these levels are random too but they needed to use smaller units or modular modules or something so you don't see the same damn burned out building three times on the same street) In addition, there's a lot of room for upgrades/additions/improvments that they DIDN'T make. I WANT to love Hellgate, and I will… When they make Hellgate 2 and get it right.
Zelda sequels were definitely better, especially once it moved past the NES era. Diablo 2 was better than 1. 3 could possibly be better than 2. Warcraft 2 was MILES ahead of Warcraft 1. MGS has been a solid series all around. Tekken… probably peaked at 3. Baldur’s Gate 2Baldur’s Gate 1.
If your going to be doing a live stream thing, what website do i go on and how do i reach the live cast? im not that good with computers so i may need some extra instruction.
Also, during show 5 (or 6) you guys mentioned the Farnham the drunk. his Diablo 2 counter part is Geglash. you find him in the tavern in act 2. I too loved that guy
