Character Builds Diablo 2
From easiest to Hardest what characters to get through the single player version of Diablo 2 and expansion?
I want a list from Easiest to Hardest of the different character classes to get through the single player version of Diablo 2 and it's expansion pack. Also by now there should be a best build of each character class. If anyone knows where to find that please post it too. TIA!
The barbarian and the paladin are the easiest classes due to their high hitpoints, high physical damage and high resistances. But in hell difficulty they are very hard to play because the monsters have insane resistances, some are immune to physical and some have deadly skills that can kill you in just a few secs.
The necro is somewhat weak and slow to play in the first levels. But in the higher levels (when you enter hell difficulty) the necro is still as powerful as in nightmare (his spells can break immunities, that is why he is extremely powerful). The only downside is that you must pay close attention to him at all times and flee whenever an enemy targets you until that enemy lose interest in you. His low health can only sustain two or three hits (in hell) before death.
The sorceress is really powerful after level 30 and will crush any enemy you encounter until hell. In hell the sorceress is extremely difficult to play because all the enemies have immunity to something plus very high resistances to everything else. You need to retreat most of the time whenever you encounter enemies with immunity to your primary source of damage.
The amazon is a little hard to play in the beginning but as you gain more levels the game becomes easier, until hell that is. Her range attacks makes her less vulnerable and will survive better than a barbarian or paladin because she doesn't take as much damage as the barbarian or any other melee character. She is like hit & run. Attack the enemies, run as they get close and attack again. In hell is very hard to play, not as hard as the barbarian or paladin, but still you die a lot and sometimes it takes insane amounts of time to kill an enemy.
The druid and the assassin are like the barbarian, easy to play in the beginning and very hard to play in hell.
Conclusion: The necro is the only character that can beat hell difficulty in single player with few problems due to his curses that can break immunities (amplify damage for physical immune and lower resist for magic immunities). All the other classes have a very hard time surviving hell difficulty in single player and the sorceress being the hardest to play.
