in diablo 2 lord of destruction what are the thul, el rune stones used for..and what r rune words.!?

i hav played the original diablo 2 but i just got the expansion(lord of destruction) and im not sure whats new to it..there are new rune things that i have about 4 of them..like el rune, thul rune or something like that. do u just use them as u use a gem..in ur weapons? or is there more to these rune things. also what are rune words..pleas tell me whats the main new things r in lord of destruction..or a website which explains it. thanks

Go to this site. I played D2 like 4 years ago. Very useful. Good luck!. In short its a socket item but it have to be correctly place in a certain order.

"Runewords socketed correctly create Runic Items, among the most powerful items in the game. They are always the same, varying only by the stats of the item you insert them into, so you can look over the menu and pick out just what you want.

For weapons you'll want to find the best type of weapon possible, since that's what the bonus damage is based on. Same with Armor if you are after Defense and shields for blocking percentage. If defense isn't important, look for an item that looks good, has low requirements, and for armor and shields, is not going to slow your running speed.

V1.09 Changes: All Twenty-five RuneWords now work on and off the realms. No new runewords were added in the patch. See the Runes FAQ for info on changes to Rune names and some properties."

To Make a RuneWord:

1) Items used for RuneWords must be gray text items, normal, exceptional, or Elite. Low Quality, Superior, and Ethereal can be used, but you can not use magical, Rare, Set, Crafted, or Unique items, even if they have the correct number of sockets.
2) The item must be of the correct type.
3) The item must have exactly the correct number of sockets (no more).
4) You must socket the Runes in the correct order.

I played it for a whole weekend. I got bored after some four or five hours on day one, then decided to come back the next day because my Arisen is so damn pretty. I didn’t come back for day three, prettiness can do only so much.

Diablo and Diablo 2 are definitely gems in my book. Diablo 2 took most of my college free time. Unfortunately, I couldn't play Diablo because of system restrictions and once I did get a system that could play it, Diablo 2 was set to be out in a few weeks.

I sometimes get tempted to purchase the games again. Unfortunately, I think technological advances could ruin it for me. Diablo 2 – at the highest settings – will run in 1024×768. Diablo 1 probably runs at an even smaller resolution.

Despite my on-again-off-again addition to WoW, I must say Diablo is the best series out of all of Blizzard's workings.
