Diablo Necromancer Builds
Building the best Necromancer in Diablo2?
I just started playing Diablo 2 again, and I'm remaking a necromancer. What do you suggest I put all of my skills & stats in to, to make a very good PvM necro?
Stats all go in to Energy and Vitality, maybe just enough Strength to wear some equipment you want, but seriously don't get all crazy with it. Dexterity is a waste for you.
Definitely do everything in this paragraph: Skills all go into bone spear (not bone spirit, which only hits 1 guy at a time and is too slow. Bone spear busts through a bunch of enemies, good for crowds.) You'll also need to max corpse explosion. Corpse explosion doesn't do more damage with more skill points, but the radius gets insanely huge. You'll be able to use corpse explosion to kill stuff that isn't even on screen, it's great. Furthermore, corpse explosion's damage isn't a certain number, it instead deals 70-120% of the hit points of the corpse you use for the explosion as damage, so almost half of the time, anything hit by it will die in one hit if you use a corpse with high HP. Finally, corpse explosion deals 50 % fire damage and 50 % physical, so there's not really anything that will be immune to you (rare for any build from any class).
Everything from here down is optional: Just have fun with the rest of your skill points. I would go with a Clay or Iron Golem, myself. Clay golems have a nifty slowing effect that's good for bosses, and iron golems take on the properties of whatever item you use to make them. Irons can get a little expensive; Clay is definitely the poor man's golem. Blood golems ain't that great, they take way too much damage most of the time and kill thier masters. Fire is okay I guess, but the big radius on their holy aura will pull the attention of monsters that you aren't ready to fight yet sometimes. In this case, the curse terror is your best friend to make stuff scatter. There's still a lot of things that will be immune to your fire golem, however.
Might also try to build a skeleton army too, if you want. Makes you feel like a legit necro if you ask me
