You should find your receipt and the original packaging, and call their customer service if the disc is not working when you insert it.
I really enjoyed making several of the same character in Diablo 2 so that I could make a few versions of similar builds to see what worked best. They mentioned that you might be able to un-train your talents in the skill tree (kind of like you can in WoW). This would be a welcomed enhancement from Diablo 2; even if you could only make a complete skill change say, 3 times over the life of your character.
