Diablo II Hammerdin Question?
Thanks for the other answers. My next question is, do I need to have LoD to be able to make a Hammerdin? I only have Diablo II, and if I install LoD now, will I be able to port the current paladin in to the LoD game? Thanks and have a great weekend !

Paladins exist in both classic and expansion, and can use the blessed hammer skill in both classic and expansion. It is certainly possible to make a blessed hammer paladin in classic. However, such characters tend to be much more powerful in expansion, because their main strength lies in the enigma runeword, which like all runewords does not exist in classic.

You can convert characters created in classic to expansion. However this is a one-way process; it is impossible to convert an expansion character back to classic, although you can keep an old copy of the character if it's a singleplayer (open) character rather than a realm character. Druids and assassins, of course, cannot be converted either way as they only exist in expansion.
