Sorceress Strategy Diablo
sorceress in Diablo 2 LOD?
hi, just started playing Diablo 2 LOD on Battlenet. (best mmorpg around, even if it was the first one) I want to build a sorceress. Whats the best strategy to build a strong sorceress? Should I give skills to everything light fire and ice or only concentrate on one element?? Also what do I need the most, like Strength, Vitality, Energy and Dexterity. dunno, wich stats is best for a soreceress (I'm guessing energy for the magic attacks, but what else) Someone help me please. TY
I assume you're playing on closed battle.net and not open battle.net.
You should only put stats into strength and dexterity for the armor that you want to wear. Do NOT put any points in energy because as you level up, your mana increases. By the time you get to late normal or early nightmare, you should have plenty of mana available that you don't need to worry about running out. In the early stages, carry around some mana potions in case you run out of mana. Also, you can find armor and charms that increases your mana. Pump every points that you can into vitality because you're going to need it.
With the synergy skills, you now need to build a sorceress that specializes in 1 or 2 skills in a branch. You'll also need to put skill points into those skills' synergy in order to maximize your damage.
The sorc got royally screwed in 1.11. Occasionally, you'll come across a monster that has immunity to all 3 elements, so you'll have to rely on her mercenary to do the killing. because we know the sorc can't really deal physical damage. You're going to need a good strong merc with top notch weapons and armor in order for him to kill enemies.
You can try to make a tri-elemental sorceress, but she's not going to do a whole lot of damage than if you concentrate on a sorceress who specializes in 1 or 2 elements.
My advice is to build a fire and ice sorc. You don't come across monsters that have both fire and ice immunity that often.
For ice skills, you can either go with either a frozen orb or blizzard socr. Frozen orb has the advantage in that it hits a large area, and any monsters that gets hit by the spinning shards also takes damage, but the downside is that frozen orb doesn't have a lot of synergy, so it don't deal as much damage as a blizzard. Blizzard has quite a few synergy, so it can do quite a bit of damage, but the downside is that there's a longer downtime between casting, and it only covers a small area.
For fire, most people go with meteor because when it hits, it covers a large area, and it does quite a bit of damage.
The only lightning skill to invest in is static so you can whittle down enemy life real fast. Don't bother investing in energy shield because it takes 3 skill points to get to it, and those 3 skill points can be put to better use. Plus, you're not going to put any points in mana so you won't have enough to absorb the damage. Try to get an Enigma armor (either breast plate or dusk shroud) so you can get the teleport skill.
