Diablo 3 Beta
anyone one know when there will be diablo 3 beta out?
A beta test will be conducted before the game's release.
Diablo III is said to be released in late 2010, but even the stores will tell you that with Blizzard, it will probably be delayed to a 2011 release at best.
I pre-ordered my game (:
And I will definitely be signing up for the beta test.

Is my website illegal?
I currently created a silly prank website that sends out fake, but legit looking, beta invites.
The website is: www.beta-invite.com
Folks are able to plug in their friend's email, select a game & pre-written letter, and click "Send" to send out the fake beta invite. The extension of the emails are from @beta-invite.com.
For instance, I can prank people with Blizzard's Diablo 3 beta invite. The email would say it was from d3.blizzard@beta-invite.com (looks legit - but clearly from beta-invite.com). The emails that are sent contain fake links and user login info; thus, ultimately directing them to an EPIC FAIL JOKE webpage.
Could I get in trouble for this?

Diablo 3 Beta! WC3 Remake. part 1
Diablo 3 question....?
On YouTube one of my subscribers uploaded a "Diablo 3 beta" video of him playing. Is the beta out? When I went to re-watch the video it said the video was taken down by Blizzard Entertainment due to copyright infringement.
Beta doesnt mean that its out for people to download and play.
Beta only means its in the 2nd of 3 phases a game exsists. Alpha means rough design and development thats unplayable by anyone, beta means the game is playable and stuff is added in and gold means the game is done and being sent out to purchase.
There is NO open beta for diablo 3 for people to download and try.
And chances are it wasnt him playing it since you could only play it at blizzcon last week which had ticket prices of 100 bucks and sold out literally within minutes.

Diablo 3 beta keys?
I was just wondering now that diablo 3 has been announced if anyone knows if they are going to be coming out with a beta version? And if so how we can get some beta keys?
I doubt there will be a beta anytime soon, but when Blizzard does release a beta for the masses usually they give out like 100 or so keys to popular Blizz fan sites to distribute. They then distribute them by setting up contests that could be about any number of things.
So basically you just have to wait and see =/

Why does this beta test say my CPU speed is 1.7?
On a blizzard beta test, they send you a scan to specify your computer settings and it says my CPU speed is 1.7 which seems very slow. I've had a few games pass here and there but no viruses. And when I play games my computer is always fast so I'm wondering why it is at 1.7 Ghz when it should be very close to 3.0. I currently have Diablo II and Starcraft II as my games on here now, and im downloading Team Fortress II as I type right now, could that be the problem? Again, no virusus.
My computer is an ASUS G73 Stealth laptop. It has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Graphics with plenty of memory and RAM.
computer has Twin Turbo Speed, but it's on at the moment, while it was scanning, and the scan said 1.7 GHz, and the same when it was off
Because at the time you ran the test that was what your CPU said it was. The stock CPU in that model seems to be a i7 @ 1.6GHz. Your laptop is set up so that when it isn't doing calculation heavy processes (like ruining the system detector software) it uses this clock speed to prolong battery life. In calculation heavy applications it will turn on "turbo" and the clock speed will jump to the 2.8Ghz. having turbo "on" doesn't change the CPU to always use the higher clock setting. It only enables your laptop to make the change when it deems appropriate.
Depending on how the system detector is set to dig out information even if have turbo engaged (running Starcraft 2 while detecting) you may not see the higher clock speed recorded. This would be because the detector is looking at the normal settings rather then taking the current conditions in to account.
Diablo 2 isn't worthy of note in this case as it will run on a CPU of 233MHz (0.233Ghz) Starcraft 2 on the other hand is as it needs 2.6GHz and likely wouldn't run if turbo didn't work. Video card and ram aren't relevant to your CPU speed.

I don't think so. They only test it with a selected group of people, because they don't want random people leaking it to the general public. Then anyone would get to download it and play.

Does anyone have any information on the subject? Because I would really enjoy testing that game...
If it does happen, it will probably be exclusive to a certain group, like the WOTLK beta keys that were given to people who attended in london (sorry cant remember name of event)
